A few more not-Adobe apps entered the limelight recently, this time aimed at taking on After Effects.
The hits just keep on coming. This week's Star Citizen Live addressed many questions the community has about mining and crafting, but the answers seem to have created more concern than comfort.
Is the issue removing a privilege, or in not telling the community the removal was going to happen?
Out of the box, the JM21 is a great lower-cost digital audio player that I really should have bought instead of the Hiby R1.
I have data this time! And graphs!
Dune: Awakening is rolling back claims that PvP was the way the game had to be. Other MMOs seem content to disagree, possibly to their detriment.
While I'd love a feature-complete Star Citizen for 1.0, I think there are a few systems that are necessary for a minimally viable product.
Bored? Tired of societal infighting for inconsequential reasons? Like left-field amateur psychological hot-takes? Have I got the post for you!
Discussing some concerns and hopes regarding Star Citizen's crafting features, currently in testing.
Enshittification continues. Concerned about Discord's age verification plans? What are our alternatives, and how viable are they?
Relatively boring week, so you get a relatively boring post. I don't make the rules.
CIG _seems_ to be making real, solid progress with Star Citizen, but things have looked that way before.
The latest Nu-Trek series is here, much to the consternation of many. But I kind of like it...so far.
Space flight and ground combat aren't the only options for simulations in Star Citizen. Maybe add some politics to the mix as well.
My goals for 2026, chosen for what I believe will be possible.
Just a few items I picked up during this Winter Sale. Sadly, there's no real stand-outs, but as the games industry caters to a different demographic these days, what can I do?
I am actually making resolutions for 2026, which I'll get to talking about in 2026 proper. This post, however, explains The Why.
CIG is patching engineering on the PTU at a furious rate, but the sum total seems to neuter the entire system. What will engineering look like when it finally releases to the public servers?
It burned twice as bright for 1/4 as long and while it showed promise, it was just too expensive in too many ways compared to selling my soul to the Evil Empire.
What's there to do in space when game universes are so large?
Spoilers ahoy, but I had to talk about passing the torch from Strange New Worlds to The Original Series and how fans keep the spirit alive when we see a diminished Trek future.
What role does music -- both old and especially new -- play in my life now that I'm 51?
While I'm enjoying Dune: Awakening, there are parts of the game I will never play, but I'm OK with having bought the game despite that. What about you?
In which I say a lot of things opposite to other things I said, and own my hypocrisy.
3D printing, code refactoring (!), Andor wraps up again, and Star Citizen's 4.1.1 patch in the wild.
Some words on the horrifyingly unusual.
I've reached my limit with Star Citizen and turn to Elite Dangerous instead.
A short (mental) film about what happens when I lose sight of my original intent.
3D modeling, development slump, reading time, and why aren't I gaming, dammit?!
I've been trying a few social media aggregation apps, and they all fall short by offering a view-only window of our own accounts. Is this valuable to anyone?
CIG's decision to cancel the upcoming free-fly event is wise. VERY wise. But why cancel this time, and what does it and other moves by the company say about the potential future of Star Citizen?
Where's the Joy?
"Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life...because you'll end up hating it and will never want to do it again, ever."

No promises, but a promise to try.
Part 1 of x focusing on the new crafting system ! In this post, I review the stated plans for general item crafting.
After the release of 4.0, CIG is aiming to add two more systems: Nyx and Castra, as well as the game's first instanced content zones.
This panel was about clothing and armor...and animals. It was basically a catch-all for two subjects which didn't have enough to say for their own extended presentation, but they meshed together nicely in the end.
Star Citizen's social tools...suck. Here's CIG's presentation on how they're making them suck less.
Welcome to CitizenCon 2954: The Written Recap Series.
CitizenCon opens with a frank and intimate look at the birds and the bees...almost literally.
If anyone is interested, here's a monster post on my recent trip to Nashville, hot off the brain while it's still fresh.
It's getting harder for me to concentrate on learning, or to even want to sit down and absorb information and that's really interfering with my ability to start and abandon projects.
"You only get one shot to make a first impression". When dealing with early access games, how tightly do YOU hold to this axiom?
We experienced true mobile gaming yesterday.
I am apparently not a happy person these days. Here's a bunch of complaints about random stuff. I'd say "enjoy", but what's the point?
I'm porting my Node application to Deno and while I'm finding it pretty easy going and occasionally beneficial, I'm still not 100% sold on some of their design decisions.
My development project is on hold (surprise!) so I'm considering 3D modeling again (more surprise!) but I still have a lot to learn...but nowhere to learn it from (saddest surprise).
Following Wilhelm Arcturus and Belghast, I ask AI the tough questions: Who is Scopique?
Thinking about web rings, and what we'd need to do in order to bring back a smaller, more intimate World Wide Web.
I don't have a beef with live service games where being always on makes sense. I do have a beef with claims that games live or die based on whether they include live service or not.
