A horrible explanation of the story behind "The Reconciliation" render, both official and personal.
My usual post-mortem breakdown of my Blender work, this one with a "disturbing image" disclaimer applied.
Thinking about my next Blender project, I wonder if it might not be better suited as a jumping-off point to finally learn Unreal Engine.
Two models that I think came out pretty nice, although they won't be used for their original intent.
I like the composition. I'm happy with the concept. It's the LIGHTING that I feel ruins the whole project.
Yes, Alien: Earth, but also World of Warcraft returns from cryo, a gripe about complex software without instructions, and Star Citizen's 4.3 patch arrives.
Oblivion Remastered, V Rising, Humble Choice selections, project updates, and the usual dénouement regarding space sim games, this week in the Grab Bag.
Discord Nitro, a Blender holiday, TTRPG organization with Obsidian, and my customary Star Citizen sign-off in this week's Grab Bag.
A project taken from a still image in an ad seen in a video.
Another Secret World inspired project, this time designed after a real-world property.
3D modeling, development slump, reading time, and why aren't I gaming, dammit?!
As per usual, my own postmortem, this one for my first rendered scene.
I went back and recreated the shader tree for the canyon, and recorded the node layout for posterity.
I found a way to use better textures on terrains exported from World Creator and while the renders aren't perfect, they're getting closer.
Generating terrain is fun, but getting into Blender for composition is the important part. World Creator has a direct export to Blender, but is it the best way to do it?

My first compositing attempt with Resolve Fusion and 3D objects from Blender.
With more experience under my belt, I might try and re-do my first Blender model, the Viper Mk II.
A finished product that I'm not totally disgusted by!
I spend more time, and more intensity on 3D modeling every time it comes around in my "rotation of interests". Why?
Arbitrary updates on games, software, and projects here at Chez Scopique.
My development project is on hold (surprise!) so I'm considering 3D modeling again (more surprise!) but I still have a lot to learn...but nowhere to learn it from (saddest surprise).
